Search engine optimization and flash websites do not go well together.  Search engines like Google and Yahoo! do not yet have the technology to read flash making seo virtually impossible.  This makes it virtually impossible for a flash website to get its pages indexed and sorted.  A solution to this problem is creating a html version of your flash site and submitting its sitemap with Google.  This will allow search engines to read your content and links, so they know for which terms your site is relevant.  Until search engines develop the technology to read flash I recommend avoiding it. 

If you really want to use flash than use it for a banner to display images, do not use it for your whole site.  Also, remember that you may like flash, but your visitors may not.  Sounds and tricky navigation can be very annoying, not to mention download times.  One more thing to consider is that all of your visitors may not be using an updated search engine. If your visitors are still using internet explorer 6.0 than they may not be able to see that nifty site.
